If we go more than a couple of days without a standout Cardi B hair or makeup moment, I’m usually convinced something has gone terribly wrong. Thankfully, just a few days after debuting that ankle-length hair from her “Wild Side” music video with Normani, Cardi is right on schedule with yet another dazzling wig, a blue and green number with a fun little surprise in the back.
In a video posted to her Instagram feed on July 19, Cardi lipsyncs to the new song on a stairwell in a mesh seafoam dress before the video cuts to show her in a patent black bikini (with that adorable baby bump on full display). When you see the wig fully from the back and sides, you realize that blue-green color fades into pitch-black tips to match the swimsuit.
And, because Cardi is a true visionary when it comes to this stuff, she wears matching blue and green makeup on her eyes to complement the dress and wig. Applied by Cardi’s right-hand artist Erika La’ Pearl, the look consists mostly of Pat McGrath Labs products (as to be expected), including the brand’s Astral Nocturnal Nirvana Eye Quad, Mothership IV Decadence Eye Palette, and Permanent Ultra Glide Eye Pencil in Blk Coffee.
Leave it to Cardi to match her hair to her dress to her makeup to her bikini (oh, and her sunglasses. And shoes). Truthfully, Cardi’s attention to detail is so intense, this minute-ling video could have been the “Wild Side” video all on its own.
